The Other Art Fair, presented by Saatchi Art, returns to Brooklyn’s Agger Fish Building with a nostalgic theme, featuring a Badsicle sculptural popsicle installation, a Millennial Mandala, a retro ceramics souvenir shop, a bar installation, and limited edition tote bags from the legendary Noble Signs

Brooklyn, NY – The Other Art Fair Brooklyn, presented by Saatchi Art, returns April 16–19, 2026, at Agger Fish Building, Brooklyn Navy Yard, for its 17th edition. Bringing together 120+ independent artists from around the world, the fair continues its mission of making art accessible to all, with works starting at $100, transparent pricing, and direct connections between artists and collectors. The fair opens on Thursday, April 16, with an exclusive preview event from 6–10 PM featuring DJ programming and artist activations. Friday, April 17, brings a special late-evening event that continues through the weekend, featuring interactive experiences, artist demonstrations, and community events. 

The Nostalgia Core theme brings a curated selection of interactive, artist-led projects that celebrate the best of the past — from the tactile hum of retro tech to the kitschy charm of childhood memories. Visitors are invited to touch, play, and rediscover the analog hobbies and vintage designs that shaped us. It's not just an art fair; it's a trip down memory lane you can actually participate in. 

The centerpiece installation of this spring's Brooklyn edition is Badsicle: Imperfect Reality by Ryan Almeida (Ryan Jester), a whimsical sculptural experience that explores the moment childhood expectations melt into reality. Inspired by the universal disappointment of unwrapping a cartoon popsicle that looks nothing like the picture, the installation features six oversized character popsicle sculptures where imperfection is a deliberate artistic choice: eyes misplaced, mouths off-centre, colors melting, forms distorted. Visitors are invited to move through the work, explore it from every angle, and capture playful photos, turning a shared childhood memory into a collective social moment.

Brooklyn-based new media artist Jake Wright presents Millennial Mandala, a digital video work that brings together sprite graphics from classic video games and footage from popular streaming platforms, composited into the geometric structure of a mandala, a spiritual instrument of meditative focus. The work draws on collective memory and nostalgia, inviting Millennial and Gen-X viewers to reflect on their relationship with the rise of the video game industry and the paradoxical nature of streaming as entertainment: a one-directional, largely silent act of watching, at once communal and deeply solitary. 

Evoking the charm of a nostalgic souvenir shop, ceramicist Stefanie Haining presents a collection of ceramic souvenir snow globes that transport visitors to another time: a holiday, a childhood bedroom, a collection of treasured items. The display draws visitors into an unexpected interaction, engaging them in a shared wall of memory and storytelling.

Brooklyn-based Noble Signs bring their signature hand-lettered aesthetic to the Fair with a Main Bar installation and a limited-edition tote bag designed exclusively for this spring edition. Founded on a deep appreciation for the vanishing classic signage of New York City, the studio fuses contemporary design with time-honored techniques, including hand-painting, gold leaf, and neon. The studio's co-founders also established the New York Sign Museum, a nonprofit preserving historic signage from across the metro area. The limited-edition tote, inspired by classic NYC showcard signs, is available in limited numbers on a first-come, first-served basis exclusively with select ticket bundles.

This edition of the Fair proudly presents Soomin Oeffinger of This This That Studio as the Brooklyn New Futures Award winner. Established in 2021, the New Futures program offers mentorship and a complimentary exhibition booth to support exceptional, up-and-coming talent. Born in Seoul and raised in Los Angeles, Oeffinger lives and works in Brooklyn, developing a practice that applies traditional stained glass techniques to a bold visual language. Influenced by Bauhaus principles, Swiss poster design, and contemporary illustration, she creates geometric and abstract compositions that explore light, color, and the expressive potential of glass.

The Fair welcomes back returning exhibiting partner Arts Gowanus, spotlighting Brooklyn’s creative community with a pop-up space in which the nostalgia core theme is front and centre.
